42,195
Today, every runner who finishes a marathon is celebrating a triumph with others and with themselves. It is a victory over their temptations, limitations and fears, as well as the daily challenges that drive them to persevere and push forward. This is exactly what
42.195 represents: the importance for the mind and body of taking on the marathon challenge and undergoing difficult, sometimes extreme training.
Through personal accounts from a range of individuals, including notable figures such as Luis Enrique Martínez, Luís Rojas Marcos, Mikel Erentxun, Jaime Alguersuari, Blanca Suelves, Fernanda Maciel, May El Khalil, Gabriela Andersen-Schiess, Martín Fiz, Fauja Singh and Eliud Kipchoge, we gain insight into the experiences of people with different abilities and health conditions. Abel and Moi Gangolells, David Andrew Bong, Dalia Shteinhauz, Emma Roca, Harriet Kjaer, Joan Bayén, Jorge Pérez de Leza, Laura Paradell, Manel Pousa, Paco Roncero and Juan Antonio Samaranch, we welcome the public to discover their inspirations, their stories, their common bonds and the passion they put into every kilometer.
Social action
42.195 is a publishing initiative that aims to bypass conventional marketing channels and dedicate maximum resources to social causes. WeRunProject aims to become a
benchmark movement that promotes equality and social inclusion through sport. To this
end, all proceeds from the sale of the book will go towards a training programme run by the Associació Superacció. For one year, these sales will fund the training costs of fifty
disadvantaged young people to build their future through running.
